2024 First Person Series: Ayana Touval

Conversations with a Holocaust Survivor

Holocaust survivor Ayana Touval was just a toddler when Nazi Germany and its allies invaded Yugoslavia in April 1941. Soon afterward, Nazi collaborators began persecuting Jews in Zagreb (which is now a part of Croatia), and Ayana’s parents decided to flee their home town. Watch to discover how the young family tried to stay one step ahead of the danger.
