Midnight

By George Salamon

One morning I went to our glass door I looked outside and what did I see A large black cat was looking at me. He looked comfortable and not shy He did not move and seemed to smile. We fed him and he returned every day At the same time like he had a clock Probably walking around the block. This cat was black like the darkest night So we gave him the name Midnight. We admired his behavior As he stood in front of our glass door. Later we learned he was a school cat, That explained why he was so cool, And we were sorry when our black cat Was taken back by the school.
