A view of the Museum’s Hall of Witness from its lowest level. US Holocaust Memorial Museum
William R. Marks, Esq., is a nationally-recognized expert in the field of German reparations and restitution, who began specializing in Holocaust-related compensation claims over two decades ago, after his historic success in the matter of American Holocaust survivor Hugo Princz. Join us as Marks discusses case studies and reflects upon the profound impact of his career-long pursuit of justice.
Since 1996, Mr. Marks’ firm, in cooperation with attorneys in Munich and Berlin, has led the legal and political battles to expand survivor eligibility for German Social Security / Ghetto pensions, and has represented over 25,000 survivors worldwide in individual Wiedergutmachung (health pension) and Ghetto pension claims. He also participated in the landmark Nazi-era litigation against Swiss and Austrian banks and German companies that used slave labor.
