Love and Luck: A Young Woman's Journey From Berlin to Shanghai to San Francisco
Karen Levi, a second generation survivor, tells the story of her mother, Eva Wolffheim Levi. She was born in 1927 in Berlin, Germany, to Jewish parents and was part of a large extended family. Karen writes about her mother's childhood, her time evading the Nazis in the early 1930s, her escape to Shanghai, China, and her eventual arrival in San Francisco.
