Burma’s Path to Genocide

In 2017, violence against the Rohingya in Burma, also known as Myanmar, forced some 700,000 to flee for their lives. Many remain in neighboring Bangladesh today. The exhibition explored how the Rohingya, a Muslim minority, went from citizens to outsiders—and became targets of a sustained campaign of genocide. The exhibition featured audio, video, photography, and first-person testimony. Guest curator Greg Constantine, a photojournalist, has been documenting the community since 2006. 

In March 2022, Secretary of State Antony Blinken toured this exhibition and announced the US determination that the Burmese military committed genocide against the Rohingya.
