More than 90 large-scale portraits of Holocaust survivors—including several who have volunteered for the Museum—will be showcased at Washington University in St. Louis October 20 through November 6 at Tisch Park. Please plan to see the installation on your own.

Then join us on October 23 for a conversation with Luigi Toscano, the photographer of the Lest We Forget installation, and one of his subjects, Museum volunteer Rita Rubinstein, who will discuss what this global project means to them.

Over a million visitors in Europe and the United States have seen the display, which gives survivors voice and visibility and helps confront viewers with the importance of ensuring Holocaust memory.

Toscano, from Mannheim, Germany, was deeply affected by a visit to Auschwitz when he was 19. Starting in 2014, he traveled to meet with Holocaust survivors living in several countries, take their pictures, and hear their stories.
