The Flag Dress

While living at a displaced persons camp in Deggendorf, Germany, Holocaust survivor Margret Hantman (née Simon), performed with a theater group and helped make costumes. In an American-themed show, she wore a stars and stripes dress, and her friend played the Statue of Liberty.
