Notes:
The archive's cover sheet identifies this book as a Mauthausen concentration camp book (a sample of the deceased prisoner entries here matches the Mauthausen death books on-line search tool). The Polish archive's cover sheet also implies that this is a photographic reproduction the original(?). Dates mentioned by the cover sheet (May 1939-Sept. 1941) deviate somewhat from date pencilled in on title page of book: 14.7.39-.
Prisoner type: often missing. Sometimes marked as "Rueckf." or "Ausw." (I have made this "other").
The entries typically include running number, date of entry into book, prisoner name and number, prisoner category, birthdate and -place.
A number of prisoners were transferred to Dachau, Buchenwald, and Gusen (often marked).
The prisoner's book includes roughly 158 names of transferred prisoners, 487 names of released prisoners, and 48 pages (1389 names) of prisoners who died.
Some prisoners have two numbers, separated with a slash.
Many 175 and Jehovahs cases. 175 cases (~38-40 total): transfers (11 total): consecutive numbers 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 17, 33, 42, 43, 82; released (13-14 total): consecutive numbers 10(?), 19, 23, 36, 245, 246, 247, 251, 256, 348, 408, 412, 482, 483; deceased(14-15 total): 42, 100, 101, 162, 196, 208, 236 [crossed out], 241, 314 (& Jewish), 318, 538, 545, 547, 597, 1158.
