GERMAN MINORITY CENSUS OF 1938-1939 (ID: 31249)
Title or Main Description:
- GERMAN MINORITY CENSUS OF 1938-1939
- The Bundesarchiv created this computerized form of the 1938 Minority census (see AA0366) to aid in the creation of the _Gedenkbuch_ (GB0111). This and the 1933 census included race-specific questions which provided the raw material for Nazi race-based policies. Entries were hand written into a printed form and included name, birthdate, and birthplace. Computerized format also captures answers to questions concerning the race of all four grandparents. The Census includes both Germany and Austria within 1939 borders but not areas covered under the 1930 Czech census (Bohemia, Moravia) or the Sudetenland
