Hi,

I can't donate financially at this time; I'm sorry. But when I hear that a member of the Black community is killed while protecting the Holocaust Museum, it only strengthens me in the tiny pieces of anti-racist work that I seem to have been doing for some time. As the child of Jewish Holocaust survivors, I guess it's what I am supposed to be doing. I wish for a world where such terrible things do not happen to any of us.

I'am still at a lost for words when I remember that I will not be seeing him again. This was one of the most terrifing situations in my life this year. My prayer is for our country is to be more alert and watchful toward any! odd behaviour.. so this does'nt happen to another family. Know longer must we be afraid of people of hate and any thing that has to do with crime, but we must speak up! So pepole like my cousin wont loose their lives being respectible for our country at large.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Johns' family and the other guards and employees of the Museum. That the murder of Officer Johns was fueled by hatred and occured in a place of memory and understanding makes it all the more difficult to tolerate. May we all look forward to a day when our world will be a more peaceful and humane one.
