I have been wanting to go to the Congo for a few years now. I cannont find an Internship that goes anywhere near there. Rwanda changed my life into being ashamed of our governments and their lack of respect for Human Rights. Our leaders repented and said that it was a mistake not to take action, but to know that it is still going on in the Congo, one of our richest cultures left in the world, is tragic. To Angelina and everyone else who does their part in stopping this madness, YOU are who I look to for guidence. I will be there in the Congo one day to help and to listen and learn, but most of all to love. I won't insult you by telling you that you are heros, but you are guides into the mind and soul of humankind, you are inspirational. Thank you and I will keep you all in my heart. -

I am totally in awe of Angelina's work with refugees. I read her book also.."Notes from my travels" and just was left feeling so ignorant of what is going on in the world. As an Australian we hear of things on the news, but I had no idea the depth of the problems in various countries. Angelina is "UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IN ACTION." Never has someone been able to convey these peoples plight as she does. I feel so compelled to act and I SHALL!! Thank you Ange....unconditional love is wished for you also. Thanks for opening my eyes and pushing me out of my comfort zone. You are a such a inspiration.

Thank you for your efforts in not only making more individuals aware, but for your efforts to stop the genocide. I was made aware around 1996 when I began to teach this issue in my 8 th grade class. I must tell you my students' responses continue to be most uplifting. Continue to provide teachers like myself these resources, because we care, and can influence our students to become proactive in our modern world. Our students want to help... they continue to inspire me. I thank you for sharing your journey with my students and for using some of your money to create such wonderful and effective educational resources. Just remember... we need to also show that no matter where we find war... we can also find love and the stories of the resilient human spirits we all share. Thank you,
Maria

I think this is an amazing way to bring awareness of what is happening in the world around us. So often, people may hear about these issues but forget about them the next day. I truly believe that this is a start to a change. The children soldiers have touched me the most and I think more people here in America need to become more aware of the situation in Congo. If each person contributed in even a small way like helping spread the awareness, we could make a huge difference. I greatly admire John and Angelina (and everyone else who have gone and documented Congo) for their courage and compassion for those who are less fortunate than us. If the people of Congo are grateful that some even care what they have to say, then we need to do them a favore and spread their words to those around us.

Thank you for your tireless efforts to bring attention to these countires and individuals who have received so little attention from the global press. Knowledge is power and by helping to bring the attention to the situations, maybe other can begin to see what affects one person affects us all. I work with special education students and know first hand when a child is given an opportunity what a difference it can make. Thanks for a great site and for the wonderful book(your journal) with notes from your travels. I have passed it around for friends to start learning. Thanks for your generous empathy that allows us to share in the story of these peoples lives. I have traveled to several countries in Africa and make a point to see the schools and the children , because they are the future. It always makes such an impression on me. I am grateful everyday for the opportunities I have been given in life. Thank you Angelina and team. Keep up the good work!!

I have been so fotrunate to have lived and visited many countries around the world being the child of a Teacher. It was in Thailand where i found my home. Helping Thai chirldren with HIV/AIDS, visiting South African Townships and just playing with the children, showing you genuinly care for them, and WANT to play with them means the world to me. I am truly inspired by Angelina's drive to do the things she does, and i hope to delve further into helping the Children of Thailand, the orphans, as they too strugle to get a cup of clean water a day. Thank you for sharing your diary of Congo and i hope to one day share mine of Thailand and to encourage others to not just help others, but spend a little time having fun with them, bring some happiness into their lives as they might feel comforted or give them some hope as they will know someone out there cares for them.
Thank you!

Thank you to Angelina for all her hard work.. I admire all that you try and do for people that need help in other countries. I wish there was a way that I can help but for now all I can do is educate my family and friends on what is happening to the people in Africa.. Thank you again for creating such a beautiful site worth seeing..

Please tell me what we (I) can do to help?

You hear of suffering and hunger all over the world and you think as an American since I am hearing about this our government must be doing something to assist. Right? But what are they doing, what ever are they doing, if they are doing anything it is NOT ENOUGH! Please tell me what I can do. How do we stop this? Money? Awareness? Politics? Granted we have our problems here in America. Hurricanes, Fires, Floods, Earthquakes, but nothing compares to the suffering, the brutality, the lack of compassion these people face every day, every moment of there lives. We, as a nation, as a super-power, must stand up and help. How can we live with ourselves knowing things like this are going on in the world. I am not rich in money, but I have more than enough. I am humbled. I am bless and I am grateful for all I have. Reading about the UNHCR and the issues facing the refugees, I have too much. I have the luxury of buying all the food and clothes I want. I have the luxury of safetly, security and a roof over my head. I can't imagine what these people go thru. I am in awe of their strength and their ability to smile. I am one of the lucky ones. What can we (I) do to help?

i am at a loss for words sometimes for the things i see happening in this world..i just want to be able to help and not always live my sheltered life, having everything i need and never thinking of others. we are all an earthly family that God created and we all deserve to enjoy life and not have to worry about the next meal or making it through the day alive...we need to sacrifice for others!! it's not going to kill us, we need to take action..thank you for helping to open mine and other peoples eyes to the destruction going on around us

I want to thank Angelina Jolie for shining light on the lives of refugees. As an American, I can't imagine running for your life and searching for food every day. Because of Angelina I have spoken to a fellow engineer at work who has been to Liberia twice. He has repaired generators, set up wells and helped to rebuild hospitals. He told me about the enormous hearts of the IDP's and orphans he met there. I signed up to sponsor an orphan and I joined their tuition sponsorship program.

I would like to start a website to educate teens and young adults on these issues. They don't learn about these things in High school or even college. They are the future. They can change the misconceptions people have about refugees, and bring more attention and help to them.

God bless Angelina and all of the organizations that help IDPs all over the world.
