Member of the Hitler Youth passes by an optician's storefront marked with the word "Jude" (Jew)

German and Austrian youth were not ignorant of what the Nazis were doing in their towns and cities. Here, a member of the Hitler Youth passes by the shop of an optician in Vienna in 1938. The window has been marked with the word "Jude" (Jew) and a swastika in red and black paint.
