Children holding balloons and swastika flags ride on the back of a truck draped with a sign encouraging membership in the NSV (People's Welfare Association). The NSV organization Mutter und Kind (Mother and Child) sponsored such propaganda parades through the streets of Berlin during the summer of 1934 with the goal of instilling in the German public the belief that bringing children into the world was a patriotic and nationalist act.
