Student Profile: Karol Fuks

There are four entries for Karol Fluks in the database, all have overlapping addresses and three of the four have the birthdate of 13/1/1923, however one of the birthdates was 15/1/1923. Judging by the amount of overlapping information between the entries I have concluded this is the same person, but would like to double check.

I have also come across the occupation "OD Mann" and was wondering if someone could clarify what this means.

Finally, in the first entry that comes up, there is what seems like a date (15.50.44) of when Fuks lived at a certain address. I just want to make certain that this is indeed a date.

Thanks for conducting your research! It seems that we have good evidence that this is the same Karol Fuks that signed the album. In terms of the occupation OD Mann, "mann" is most definitely German for man, but I'll check with our historian on the meaning of "OD". I agree with you that the numbers 15.50.44 seem likely to be a date, probably relating to a change of address, but we have no means to confirm this at this point. One thing I would like you to do, however, is add and submit the additional birth date of 1923-01-15 as a data field. That way its more easily searchable for other researchers. Finally, please continue your research to next stage where you should enter the dates associated with the change of address in the appropriate field and enter the street names in the comment field. I agree! in 1941 Karol would have been 18 years old, an appropriate age to attend Gymnasium when he signed the album. Next time, please leave me a note about your process so I can retrace your steps. Thanks, see you in stage 2!
