User Comment:

We believe that Rojza Burt and Rajza Burt are the same person becaust the age matches the school requirements. and the signature in the book the a in her name could've looked like an o.

Approver Comment:
An excellent point! I'm skeptical about "a"s and "o"s, too, especially since the names were signed in script, and the two letters look quite similar. Additionally, as you suggest, she would have been the right age (12 years old) to be attending school #10b in 1941 when she signed the album. Great work!

Also note her addresses: Garten 20 and Insel 30, apartment 27.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else you find in stage 2!

Do we have enough information. We are pretty sure that Rajza was killed on the day that she was transferred in the gas vans to Chelmno.

Your research is sufficient. Thank you!

It is likely she was killed on the day of deportation, but thank you for not listing it in the "dates" field since we don't know for sure. Your research has been thorough and I believe it is complete.

-Place of death should just be Chelmno, not "Chelmno Lodz."
--

The secondary sources bear out your conclusion. On January 16, 1942, deportations began again to Chelmno, where 10,000 Jews from Lodz were killed in gas vans in two weeks. You can go ahead and list the secondary sources as your source for the "camp deported to" field.
