Gymnasium and high school for boys
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for boys was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
When looking on the Jewishgen database, I could only find a boy named Szlama Tasiemka born in 1926.
Simon/Szymon/Slzama seem to be the same first name.
A variation of his name is Szlamesz Tasiemke. This might be useful to continue our research.

This seems very likely to me. However, I'll list this as "possible" until we find confirming evidence that Szymon and Szlama were the same person. FYI - Szlama moved from Marysin Kolonie to Korb Gasse 8 Flat to Gnesener Strasse 26.

He is still alive in August 1943.

Good call. Note that Volume 5 of the Lodz Ghetto Database gives the date as August 12, 1943 rather than August 10, 1943 (which is what Vol. 1-4 says). Either way, you are correct, Szlama was alive in August 1943, which means he survived the mass deportations of 1942. Until we have confirmed that Szlama and Szymon were the same person, I am marking this data as "possible."
