School #1
School #1 was a religious school for boys in Lodz. Most students at School #1 in September 1941 were between 9 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1932.
School #1 was located at Goplánska 26. The street name was changed to Buchbinderstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Goplánska and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

Approver Comment:
I agree that Fajwisz is the most likely candidate to have signed the album as Fajwel Izbicki; in 1941, he would have been 11 years old, an appropriate age to have attended school #1.
Also note his addresses: Rundegasse 2 #11a and Steingasse 1.
In the future, especially when you decide to select a name from the database search results that does not match the name from the student list, please leave a note in the comments to let me and your classmates know why you made that choice and about your process. Thanks!

User Comment:
According to the secondary source, Fajwel died with 2,350 others in gas vans when they reached Chelmno.
Approver Comment:
I agree that the secondary sources corroborate the belief that Fajwel died in Chelmno in April 1942.
