Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
Okay for H. Lajzerowicz I found three possible candidates.
The first was Halina Lajzerowicz born April 9, 1926 and she lived at Cegilnlana 23 and Muhl 7 12. She moved to Holz 8 on 30.12.42.
The second name was Henia Lajzerowicz born on September 27, 1927 and she lived at Kirchg 3 28 and Matrosen 1 and and note ZAM 19.1.42. (I'm not sure if she is an okay candidate because she was born in 1927.)
The last name I found was Hudes Lajzerowicz born in 1925 and she lived at Fisch 25 10. Her ghetto note says Fisch 25 15.3.42 TR 11/2. I'm taking this note as she was deported from her address on Transport 11/2 on March 15, 1942.
Approver Comment:
I agree that all these girls are possible candidates to have signed "H. Lajzerowicz" in the album as a student at the girls' Gymnasium. Henia skirts the outer boundary of what we think the age range was for Gymnasium, so let's keep her as a possibility until we know otherwise.
You'll also find Henia's last name spelled Lejzerowicz, with the same addresses and birthdate--would you mind adding that spelling as well to the name entries?
I agree with your reading of Hudes' ghetto note. The secondary sources should help you determine the destination of that trasnport.
Thank you for your complete and clear comments. I look forward to seeing what you find in stage 2!
