User Comment:

A search for Adela Lejzorowicz turned up Adela Leizerowitsch, who was born in the right age range for the school she attended (she was born in 1931).

Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree that this is the person who probably signed this name in the album. In 1941 she would have been 10 years old, the right age to attend school #9A. Minor spelling differences can be a result of translation mistakes or simply that the handwriting was difficult to read. I would assume that Leizerowitsch is the German version of her name. Please make sure to also add the information you find under the notes field to the appropriate field in the following stages. Best of luck for your research!

I do agree you have found the student who signed the book! Minor spelling differences can be a result of translation mistakes or simply that the handwriting was difficult to read. In this case I believe this is the German version of Adela's name. Good luck in the following stages!

User Comment:

Zelig and Ruchla Leizerowitch both lived at the same two addresses as Adela, and Ruchla's occupation was listed as housewife. Zelig's was listed as 'Buwung,' and I have been unable to find a translation for that. In addition, they were both born in 1900, making them old enough to be Adela's parents.

Under Adela's and Ruchla's notes, they are listed as having been transported on September 9th, 1942. According to the Secondary Sources, there were deportations to Chelmno between September 5th and 12th, 1942. Based on these dates, I have concluded that she was probably murdered at Chelmno in gas vans.

Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree that you have found Adela's parents. If you search the database with a "fuzzy" search for the last name you will find a record for Zelig Lizerowitsch who lived under the same ghetto street address. This will help you to determine what happened to Adela's father. Due to the deportation date we can only assume that Adela and her mother were probably deported to Chelmno but we cannot be certain unless we find further proof. Good luck for your research!

Thank you for adding Adela's parents to the record. Given their deportation date we have to assume that the family was killed in Chelmno. Thank you for your research!
