Student Profile:
A. Tusk
Gender: boy
School:
Gymnasium and high school for boys
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for boys was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

It is probable that Abram Eliasz Tusk is the same "A. Tusk" who signed the album. There is only one other "A. Tusk" in the appropriate age range to have been a gymnasium or high school student in September 1941, and that is Abram Arje Tusk (b. December 25, 1921). Given that Abram Eliasz is listed as a schueler in the Lodz Ghetto Database and Abram Arje is not, I feel that gives Abram Eliasz a slight edge. However, it is not enough to mark this finding as "confirmed." Until we find additional supporting documentation, I will have to mark this entry as "possible."

Yes, the notation "ABG" indicates a change of address. Abram Eliasz changed address from Dessauer Strasse 30 in Lodz to Reiter Strasse
5 Flat 18 in the ghetto. Then from Reiter Strasse to Cranach Strasse 15 on July 1, 1942.
On a different note, one of the postwar lists of survivors includes a survivor named Abram Tusk who was born in Pabjanice in 1926. This is an important clue since a large number of Jews from Pabjanice were sent to the Lodz ghetto, and 1926 is only one year off of Abram Eliasz's birth year. Perhaps this is him? Something to keep you motivated in your search.
