User Comment:
The name we got from the list of students was Gitl Topol. However, when we searched the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants Database, we found a girl name Gilta Topor. Gilta Topor was born in 1930, which fits the year restrictions we found when researching the school (girls at the school were born between 1929 and 1934). Also included in the notes seciton was AUSG 10.9.42, which means she was deported to Chelmno on September 10, 1942.

I agree with your process and your conclusion. Gitla Topor is the best match in the database for the person who signed the name Gitl Topol in school #4a. Good luck in the next stages.

User Comment:
We found out the Gitla Topor was deported to Chelmno on September 10, 1942. Looking under secondary sources, we also found that the transports between September 5 and September 12 to Chelmno in that year were killed in gas vans and were predominantly children under age 10, the elderly and the sick. Even though Gitla would have been 12 at this time, we are relatively certain that she died in Chelmno.
We could not find any information about her family. We also found the information about the date she was deported in the same source as the stage 1 information.

I agree with your research and your process note. Gitla would have been deported during the Gehsperre Aktion of early September 1942, in which around 20,000 people from the Lodz Ghetto, mostly very old or very young, were deported to Chelmno.
Thank you for helping us to complete Gitla's record. If you like, you may now complete a biography for Gitla.
