Student Profile: Chawa Frajdenrajch

When searching for Chawa Frajdenrajch I found her simply as CHAWA FRAJDENRAJCH born 25 Feb 1933 and she lived at Sulzfelderstrasse, 86 flat 39 and LISTOPADA, 11 flat 58. She appears to have changed addresses on 14 Nov 1941 to Matrosengasse (no numbers). She also appears with a slightly different name spelling CHAWA FRADENRAJCH and her birthdate is given as 25 Sep 1933 and she lives at SIEGFRIEDSTRASSE 9 flat 15.

I believe both Chawa's are the same girl given the similar birthdates, names, and both her occupations are given as HANDELSINHABER & HAENDLERIN which are similar. I didn't find Listopada in the drop down menu so was that street not in the ghetto?

Continuing with my research for Chawa I believe I uncovered her parents and brother. They all lived at the same addresses and appeared with the surnames FRAJDENRAJCH & FRADENRAJCH.

Chaja born 22/02/1909 (22/09/1909) her mother
Nathan born 03/10/1941 her younger brother

I found Chawa in the Lodz Work Cards under CHAWA FRAJDENRAJCH with the birthdate 23/03/1933. Her worker # was 1991, She was employed since 15 Oct 1943, and she worked at Hanseatenstrasse (Schneiderei) 2 flat 34-36. Her father also had a work card and worked at the same place as his daughter.

I couldn't find anymore information on Chawa or her family in the following stages.

Great work! I'm glad you were able to find her labor card. The card has a date of October 15, 1943, which tells us she was at least still in the ghetto as late as then.
