School #3 was a religious school for boys in Lodz. Most students in school #3 were between 7 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1934.
School #3 was located at Ulica Franciszkańska 29. Fourteen of the Lodz schools met on Franciszkańska, most in the building at #29. The street name was changed to Franzstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. Learn more about the schools on Franciszkańska at

User Comment:
By searching under the exact setting for the last name and the fuzzy setting for the first initial, I was able to return the name of Icchok Kacengold. His occupation of Schueler, paired with the date of birth (5.3.30) falling within the age range for attending School #3 leads me to believe that he was the student that signed the album. Notes also indicate that he was deported on 30.3.42 during daily deportations to Chelmno.

I also agree that this was the student who signed this name in the album. Be sure to look for his first name as Icek, Izak, and other variations--all of these names point to the same Isaac family of names and are often seen interchangeably.
