User Comment:

There were 3 results for a female D. Zylberberg within the age range acceptable under school #17B. All three were named Diana, and two of the three were born November 12, 1929 and the third one was December 12, 1929, leading us to believe that her birthday was indeed Nov. 12, 1929 and the Dec. 12 birthday was either a typo or a different girl who lived in the same ghetto at a different address. It appears as though the Diana we believe this girl to be changed her address at the same residence hall either 1 or 2 times.

Another possibilty for this potential Lodz Ghetto child is Dwojra Chaja Zylberberg, who was born in 1926 an lived in Tirpitz and then Fisch. However, we did not continue research for this candidate for two reasons, one of which being that her age was on the upper end of the accepted age range, and the other being quite simply that we didn't know where to input her information as to differentiate it from Diana's.

I agree that you've found one possible candidate to have signed the album as D. Zylberberg. Remember to add all three addresses at Sulzfelderstrasse, and it's important to keep track of all of them.

For Dwojra, you can add additional name, date, and address fields on this stage--just be careful to leave a comment explaining which information goes with which student.

User Comment:

Searched through 1590 names for family members. Found one possible sister who lived at the same address (Bala) and also moved on the same dates to the same location as Diana. Found one possible father, Berek, who lived at the same address but one door down, probably separated by sex, who also lived at the same address and moved on the same date to the same location as Diana. Found another possible mother, Ruchla (or possibly aunt), who moved on the same dates to the same locations as Diana. No possible fathers were found, unfortunately.

That's a lot of names! Thank you for having been so industrious. Berek does look like a possible father--we don't know anything about flats having been separated by sex, but we know an awful lot about typos in the database.

Please go through and check for Dwojra's family (if you have time and the inclination!), as well--otherwise, we can leave her family as a mystery for another intrepid researcher to solve. Nice work.
