School #17 was located at Młynarska 25. The street name was changed to Mühlstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Młynarska and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I put N* and Gedanken into the search engine with Gedanken under fuzzy and Hendel Nachuma came up (as well as Mendel Nechum, a boy whom due to the same birthdate and similar names could be twins.) She could have been going by Nachuma as a nickname, perhaps.
In addition, I found two records of Hendel Gedanken, with one recording her living at Sulzf 17 and the other one being more specific with Sulzf 17 27. The other members of her family are listed at having lived at Sulzf 17 27 as well.

Very interesting. I'm intrigued by the fact that "Mendel Nechum" is listed as a "Schuelerin," the word for a female student in German. I look forward to seeing what you find in the next stages.

User Comment:
Hendel Nachuma had a mother, Mariem/Marjem (b. 1905) who lived at Sulfz 17 27 and Pomorska 3, but moved to Sulzf 20 on January 5, 1942. Hendel is listed only as living at the two Sulfz addresses, and not the Pomorska one.
Hendel's sibling Mendel (b. 1932) is also listed as having lived at Sulfz 17 27 and then Pomorska 3, but moving to Sulfz 20 on January 5, 1942. His record makes no mention of his fate. Her other sibling, Mojsze (b. 1928) , lived at the same addresses as Hendel (Sulfz 20 and then Sulfz 17). Like Mojsze and Mariem/Marjem, Hendel is listed as having been deported on March 15, 1942, during the month of daily deportations to Chelmno.

I am not sure that Mendel and Hendel are different people yet, so I'm going to mark this stage as "possible."
