School #6
School #6 taught boys and girls who were deaf or hard-of-hearing. Since it was the only school for children who were deaf in the Lodz Ghetto, its students ranged in age from 6 to 20 years old, and were born between 1921 and 1935.
School #6 was located at Ulica Limanoskiego 45. The street name was changed to Alexanderhofstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Ulica Limanoskiego and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
She was deported to Chelmno on October 9, 1492.
I wen to the Database to find the name of a person, and at first her name was Frida, then once I found a name I checked their date of birth her name changed to Ita, and the school date so when I found out what person had the closest birthdate as the school I chose them to research.

Why do you think that Ita Szleger is the person who signed her name as Frida Szleger? I agree with your thoughts about the fact that Ita Szleger would also be the right age for school #6. There's a Frajda Slegier I'm looking at right now, born in 1929, who strikes me as a better fit for this name. What do you think?
