School #6
School #6 taught boys and girls who were deaf or hard-of-hearing. Since it was the only school for children who were deaf in the Lodz Ghetto, its students ranged in age from 6 to 20 years old, and were born between 1921 and 1935.
School #6 was located at Ulica Limanoskiego 45. The street name was changed to Alexanderhofstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Ulica Limanoskiego and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
-Could not find anything with Ajzenwafer. A*fer was put into the search but only 5 results came back and they were nothing like the orignal name
-Closest name I could find was Nacha Ajzenberg, born in 1924 which is within the birth date timeline for School 6

I agree that this is the closest match in the database although her occupation does not indicate that she was a student. Please also add her ghetto street address to the record. Note that not all of the students an be found in the database. We hope this will change in the future once more archives are opened up. Good luck for your research!

User Comment:
-Was very difficult to determine what month or day she came to the Litzmannstadt Ghetto because the Lodz labor card on her was faded on some spots.

I agree that this information is correct for Nacha Ajzenberg. There is another date listed on the second page of her labor card from 1944--can you determine what that means?
