User Comment:
I did a search of Meir Zalcberg and came up with nothing. So I tried spelling the name Meir in a number of ways (Meier, Mayer, Maier, and Mier Zalcberg) and I found a boy name Majer Zalcberg born in 1928 and he lived at OST 56 and SULZFELDER 58 Flat 3. He gives his occupation as "Schueler."

Nice work with the creative spellings! I agree that you have found the student who most likely signed the album; Meir is the Yiddish equivalent of the Polish Majer. Additionally, he would have been 13 years old in 1941, an appropriate age to be attending school #14b. Well done! See you in stage 2.

I believe Ryfka Zalcberg b. 01/25/1899 and worked as a "Naeherin" was Majer/Meir's mother and I believe his siblings were Frania/Trana b. 1938 and Mendel b. 1932. They all lived at Sulzfelder 58 flat 3.
