School #14B
School #14 was a school in Lodz that taught boys; school #14b met in the afternoon. Most students were between 10 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1931.
School #14 was located at Ulica Franciszkańska 29. Fourteen of the Lodz schools met on Franciszkańska, most in the building at #29. The street name was changed to Franzstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. Learn more about the schools on Franciszkańska at

User Comment:
I added Pinchas's addresses to the address feild.
I believe Pinchas Starczewski was Pinkus Starczewski b. 01/06/1928 and he lived at Hausierer 6 1 and Hohens 49. He moved to to a new address on 28.6.44.

I agree--the name is similar enough (Polish versus Yiddish, perhaps) and the age is exactly what we would expect for school #14b.
You will notice in the stage 1 database that there are three links for Pinkus Starczewski, all with the same DOB--there is another entry that lists an address of Hausierer 1 #22, then notes that the move in June of 1944 was also to Hausierergasse. The one that lists the Hausiergasse 1 address abbreviates the June move with "ABG"--which says to me "abgegangen," or moved away--whereas the Hausierer 6 entry references "ANG," angegangen, arrived. What do you think this means?
Great work!

I believe tha family of Pinkua Starczewski were Blima b. 16/05/1897 and Szlama 04/09/1891 and his siblings/cousins were Fajga 19/12/1925, Froim 21/03/1918, Izrael Hersz 08/09/1920, Luzer Dawid 06/05/1928, and Mindla Bajla 1933. They all lived together at the same address'
Approver Comment:
Interesting that Luzer and Pinkus were born so close together--this suggests that there may have been two immediate families living together at those addresses. As a result, I'm not sure we can say for certain that Blima and Szlama were Pinkus' parents (they might have been an aunt and uncle), but this is definitely on the right track.
