User Comment:

For the address, we assumed that ALEXHOF was the same as Alexanderhofstrausse. We are not sure if this is true though.

I agree that this is one candidate for the student who signed the album. In 1941, he would have been 10 years old, the right age to attend school #14b. In the future, please be sure to leave a comment about your process for figuring out if you've found the right student. Alexhof is indeed an abbreviation for Alexanderhofstrasse--thanks for entering both addresses correctly.

One of your classmates has discovered another candidate for the person who signed this album. Let me know what you find in the next stages, and if we can figure out who Natan Kac might have been. Great work!
User Comment:

His name said Natan Kac, however we believe it is Natan Koch because he is in the same age range for his school and because Kac is very similar to Koch.

The address said Brunnen however the only option was Brunnenstrasse so we assumed it was that street.

I agree that this is another candidate to have signed the album. As you suggest, the name is very similar to the one that was signed, and Natan would have been 11 years old in 1941, the right age to attend school #14b. Thanks for correcting his birthdate.

I'll go ahead and mark your research "possible" (since one of your classmates has another possible candidate). I'm looking forward to seeing what you find in the next stages. Remember to keep an eye out for that date in the "ghetto note" field: 12/9/1942.

I would still love to hear your thoughts on the Rachma/Rochune puzzle!
User Comment:

In Koch's ghetto note it says A.G. 12-9-1942. AG either means a change of address or deportation so I put them both in, however, I think he was deported because no further information for him appears, and everyone on the September 12 transport was killed in the gas vans and was predominantly under the age of 10. Koch was about 12 at the time so it is very likely that he was on this transport as well.

Approver Comment:
I agree with your conjecture that this date likely references that Natan Koch would have been deported to Chelmno during the September 1942 Gehsperre Aktion, but I really appreciate your including both possibilities. That demonstrates a great understanding of the nebulousness of the information we have, and we love to see that on this site. Thank you!

I hope that you're able to figure out the solution to this mystery.
