Gender: girl
School:
Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

Addresses: HOHENS 72 30
SRODMIEJSKA 76
When I searched "L. Jakubowska" in the database, there were four results. The only one that fits into our timeframe is Lili Jakubowska, born August 27th, 1925. Also her occupation was a student. That led me to believe that Lili is the L. Jakubowska I was looking for.

I agree that Lili is the most likely person to have signed the album as L. Jakubowska--of the L. Jakubowskas listed in the database, only she was of the appropriate age to have been in gymnasium when she signed the album (16 in September 1941.) Also note her addresses: HOHENS 72 30 and SRODMIEJSKA 76 (don't be surprised if you see this second street name called something different in another record--after the German occupation of Poland began, street names in Lodz were given German names, and this one is the Polish original).

User Comment:
Chil Majer Jakubowski could have been Lili's father even though his last name differs by one letter it was very common in Western Europe to add an a to the end of a female's last name. Both have the same addresses in the ghetto and although I found two entries of him the only difference was the date of birth. The years being 1892 and 1894 both allowing him to be the father of Lili.
Maria Jakuboska could have been Lili's mother. Both have the same addresses and Maria was born in 1897 making her 28 when Lili was born.
Jakub Jakubowski could have been Lili's brother. He too shares the same addresses and he was born two years before Lili and once again has the i at the end of the last name rather than an a.

I agree entirely with your explanation, and appreciate your having given us the naming conventions that make it possible that Jakubowski and Jakubowska are actually the same last name. Thanks!
Thanks for clarifying your sources.
