According to the Lodz Ghetto Database, Laja Zelwer moved from Holz Strasse 5 in Lodz, Poland to Hohensteiner Strasse
10 Flat 6 in the ghetto and then to Kirch Strasse 5 in the ghetto on 07/06/1944. If this is true, then we know that she survived the mass deportations of 1942, as well as a great deal of hardship and likely slave labor into the summer of 1944. Since she is not on the list of 1944 deportees to Chelmno, it is very likely that she was sent to Auschwitz during the ghetto liquidation. She would have been 19 years old, and if she was healthy, there is a decent chance that she might have been transferred from Auschwitz to another camp for forced labor.
