I initially tried to search for Chaim on the exact setting, and the only individual that registered was a much younger individual (birth year 1939), so by looking at the name, I decided that I would attempt to spell the last name as Oppenheim to see what might come up. To my suprise Chaim Joel Oppenheim (d.o.b. 15.4.1928) popped right up.His occupation is also listed as Schueler, which only strengthens my suspicion that he is the boy that signed the album.

I agree! The other possible candidate, as you state, was too young for school #1. I looked under H* Openheim (fuzzy search) as well, to see if there was a Haim (sometimes we see the name spelled with an initial H rather than Ch), and there was not. Chaim Joel looks like our best match. I look forward to seeing what else you find in the next stages.
