School #23 was a school for girls and boys in Lodz. Students were between 8 and 20 years old (most were 9-14), meaning that they were born between 1921 and 1933.
School #23 was located at Ulica Jagiellonska 16. The street name was changed to Bertholdstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about Ulica Jagiellonska and the rest of the Lodz Ghetto at

User Comment:
I ran a search and came up with two girls that matched the years 1921-1933.
Estera Balja born 30 Jan 1922 and she lived at BLEICHER 21 22 and BLEICHER 28.
Estera Deborah Kliger born in 1921 and she lived at HAMBURGER 86 2. She gives her occupation as a "Haustochter" and note the date 24.5.43.
Also Estera Kliger born 15/09/1929 and she lived at RUBENS STRASSE 4 52.

Nice work! I agree that all three of these girls are possible candidates to have signed the album for school #23. I'm looking forward to seeing what you learn about all of them in the next stages.

User Comment:
Estera Balja Kliger had the following siblings/cousins Abram Dawid 30/01/1926 and Fajwisz 07/07/1918. They all lived at Bleicher 21 flat 22 together.
Estera Deborah I believe was the daughter of Juda Kliger 1889 and Sura Rywka 1889 and had a brother Szala 24/08/1919. Note the date 24/05/1943 I'm not sure if it's a move within the ghetto or deportment date.

The 24/5/43 date is a change of address. In a record from the database for an Ester Debora Klieger (also born in 1921, also with the same addresses, so likely the same person as you found in stage 1), the full ghetto note is listed as "ABG 12.5.43 HAMBUR 86," or Ester moved to Hamburgerstrasse 86 in May of 1943.
