I agree that this is the student who most likely signed the album; would you please leave me a comment telling me how you decided this was the right person?

Searched for Katriel Sampson and couldn't find anyone.  Searched K Sampson and found Kasreil Sampson.  Thinking they might be the same person.

I agree!

As researching, the name Katreil Sampson produced no information. So in accordance to that, I researched K. Sampson and received one account of information. It included the name Kasreil Sampson, which matched the given's age range for the school attend and the name match is similar.

This was an excellent process note. Please keep up the good work in your research!

Seached katreil samson and couldnt find anything. Then we searched K Samson and a hit for Kasreil Samson came up. And since Kasreil and Katrreil are almost the same, they could be the same person and have a date of birth the fits the timeline.

I agree! Thank you for your comment on your process.

Kasreil was in the Lodz ghetto. His ghetto was captured by the Germans and was renamed Litzmannstadt on September 8, 1939.

A note on the history: Lodz was (and is) a city in Poland where Jews and non-Jews lived together before the Second World War. When the German army invaded Poland, Lodz was among the cities they captured. The Nazis and their collaborators established a ghetto in the city of Lodz where Jews were separated from non-Jews in February 1940. Kasreil did not live in a ghetto prior to 1940; he lived in a city.

Can you tell me any information about how you decided Kasreil is the one who signed the album, since all the students on this site were in Lodz?

I found that K. Samson was deported to Chelmno after cross referencing his transport abbreviation and number with the name search. I used the Hospital, Labor, and Deportation records from the Lodz Ghetto.

Approver Comment:
I agree, but I question your having come to this conclusion through the database alone. While the abbreviations do say that "Ausg" always means "deported to Chelmno," I'm not so sure--since we've seen "Ausg" mean to Auschwitz or to other labor camps. The transport number, however, generally indicates a transport to Chelmno, but this would be information found in the secondary sources, not in the database. What do you mean by cross-referencing?
User Comment:

By searching under the exact last name of Samson (and by matching individuals based on shared address) I was able to find the individuals that I believe to have been Kasreil's family. Szoel Henoch (d.o.b. 14.04.1889) was the oldest male listed at the residence, and I believe that he was Kasreil's father. He was also the only family member to have not been deported on transport 7, as he perished within the Ghetto on 31.10.1941. Chana (d.o.b. 06.06.1887) was the only female listed at the residence, and I believe that she was Kasreil's mother. Izrael (d.o.b. 26.07.1913), Jozef (d.o.b. 08.12.1922),and Lipman ( d.o.b. 03.06. 1926) are the other children listed at the address, and I believe that these boys were Kasreil's siblings. The entire family (except Szoel) shared a transport number of 7, but I was unable to find what date that transport left or where they were transported to. I was unable to find any further information on the Samson family.
