Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
Krystyna moved from Hohensteiner Strasse 28 in Lodz, Poland to Sulzfelder Strasse 21 Flat 9 in the ghetto, and then she moved again in the ghetto to Insel Strasse 9 on October 21, 1942. This last move is important... It shows that she was still alive in October after the last major deportations of 1942 to Chelmno!
User Comment:
I searched the last name Feldmark in the database, and many results were returned. However; two of the results returned had identical addresses to those of Krystyna Feldmark, and were also relocated to the same address on the same day. In addition, both of these people would have been 29 when Krystyna was born, which makes them of appropriate age to be her parents. Because of this information, I have concluded that Chana Feldmark was the mother of Krystyna, while Hersz Feldmark was her father.

User Comment:
Both the Poland: Register of Jewish Survivors II (Jewish Agency, 1945) and Pinkas Ha Nitzolim II list Krystyna Feldmark as a survivor from Lodz.
