School #10B
School #10 provided classes for girls; #10B met in the afternoon. Most students at School #10B in September 1941 were between 9 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1932.
School #10 was located at Ulica Franciszkańska 13. The street name was changed to Franzstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about and see pictures of Ulica Franciszkańska at

The second address the site gave was: SULZF 35 40
Also I have a question. On the timeline of Lodz Ghetto Deportations, it said that many people under 10, the elderly, and the sick, were sent to the gas vans in Chelmno between September 5-12, 1942. Yet Estera Ada Szejwach's record says she was deported to Chelmno on September 14, 1942 and since she was born in August, 1929, she was deported when she was 12 years old. A few pages down on the document with the timeline on it, it said Chelmno was a killing center. So does that mean that Estera was probably ill at the time and so she was also sent to the gas vans in Chelmno?

Shelby -- You ask exactly the right questions in your comments. If the gespherre acktion deportations to Chelmno were September 5-12, 1942, then what are we to make of Estera's deportation date of September 14, 1942? There are a few possibilities: 1) It is a typo, and she was deported earlier in September; 2) She was deported on September 14, but not to Chelmno; 3) The AUSG notation is an error, and she merely changed address on September 14. It is unlikely that she was deported to Chelmno on September 14. Therefore, I'm marking this submission as "possible." Great job!
