User Comment:

When i searched for J. Geller only three people came up and only one was a boy born between the years 1921 and 1927. The name was Jonatan Geller born 1927 and lived at KREUZ 9 15.

I agree!

I agree this is the only boy who might have signed this name in the album, as everyone else would have been too old or too young to attend Gymnasium in 1941. Have you found any additional information on Jonatan or his family in the next stages?

User Comment:

Jonatan Geller worked in the Lodz ghetto at "Talon-Abteilung" and he worked as a "Bote." His worker number was 66861 and according to his card he lived at Kruesz 9 flat 16, and was born on 8 April 1927. I found living at the same address Abram Jakub Geller born 1896 and Gitla Laja born 1898.

Wow! Great job finding his worker ID Card!

Excellent work! I'm glad you were able to find his ID card. We know that he was working as of August 1943, per the back of the card--have you been able to find any additional information on him in the next stages?

Sorry I don't know why I submitted this stage when I wasn't done. I found Jonatan in the Survivors database and it says he was born in 1927 in Lodz Poland. His last location was St. Ottilien, Germany. I also found him in the Shoah Fondatioan Testimonies under Jonathan Geller. It says he was the son of Abram Jakub Geller and Gitla Laja Geller and it also says he was liberated in Bavaria, Germany. It also says he was in Auschwitz, Kaufering Lager I, Kaufering Lager IV, and Kaufering Lager VIII.

Excellent work! You may add the information about Auschwitz and the Kaufering camps to the appropriate fields on stage 4, listing the Shoah Foundation testimony as your source. Thank you for helping to complete Jonatan's record; we'd love it if you could complete a biography for him as well.
