Student Profile:
S. Klar
Gender: girl
School:
Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

I think it is overwhelmingly likely that you are correct that Sara Klar was the student who signed the album "S. Klar." She would have been 15 years old and is listed as having the occupation of "Schuelerin." However, there is a small chance that Szejwa Klar (b. 1922) was our girl; so, let's keep that in mind. Still the evidence is strong enough in my mind to mark this as "confirmed."

User Comment:
Sara Klar was on Transport 2 of a deportation to Chelmno on January 17, 1942. There were 14 transports between January 16-29. The people on these transports were killed in gas vans and were never registered as prisoners.

Good research and good use of secondary sources. FYI - It is not necessary to list a deportation/transport date as a "change of address." Only the one entry will do.
