Gender: boy
School:
School #18A
School #18 was a school for boys in Lodz. The students in #18a attended classes in the morning. Most students were between 8 and 11 years old, meaning that they were born between 1930 and 1933.
School #18 was located at Ulica Urzednicza 11. The street name was changed to Reiterstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Urzednicza and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
Moved from Kaly (Kuhle) gasse 49 to Rauchgasse 18 on the 24th of October, 1941
Approver Comment:
I agree you've found the student who most likely signed this name in the album. In 1941, he would have been 12 years old, just about the right age to attend school #18a.
A few notes before I can confirm your research on this stage:
-Look again at the address data. "Rast 4 9" means apartment 9 at 4 Rast (street not listed in the drop-down list), not street number 49.
-How did you determine Kaly is the equivalent of Kühle Gasse?
-How did you determine the order of the move? I agree he moved to Rauchgasse 18 on October 24, 1941, but from where? Don't forget to put this moving date in the appropriate field on the next stage.
-How did you determine he was born in Lodz? Nothing in the source you cite indicates this fact.
Please correct these few areas and resubmit your work for approval, then I'll confirm it and you can move forward. Thanks!
