Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I searched the advanced name database under the exact setting for the last name of "Ermant" and a birth year of 1926 (+/- 5 years) and it returned the name of 2 girls, only one of which was old enough to have attended Gymnasium. Janina Ermant was born on May 14, 1926. Her notes indicate that she was a student, and that she resided at both Hamburger 11 14 and Wolczanska 79. The were multiple entries listed for her name in the advanced search database including a listing for her in the Bergen-Belsen prisoner registry and a Pinkas HaNitzolim I entry that gives me the information that this girl survived. I also checked under the fuzzy setting for the last name, but there were no girls in the age range with the same first initial that I was looking for.

I agree. We at least know she was still in the ghetto in November 1942--I look forward to seeing what else you've found in the resources on the next stages.
