User Comment:

There was one Sara Bunimowicz and her birthday is right in the range of 1921-1927. I believe that this is the right one. She was also the only female, all the others were males.

Approver Comment:
I agree with your reasoning--in 1941, she would have been 18 years old, an appropriate age to be attending Gymnasium when she would have signed the album.

Also note her addresses: Alt-Markt and Sulzfelderstrasse 11 #28.

Good work, see you in stage 2!

User Comment:
when you search for Bunimowicz several people show up, but they all lived in the same building. Is it possible that they were a family? Two of the people were born in the early and late 1890's, possibly parents. Three of the people listed were all born within four years, including Sara. So they could be possibly a brother and a sister. Was it common for families to be in the same Ghetto?
Approver Comment:
It is possible that the people living in the same building (same number, more so if the second number is the same, too) were part of a family. I suspect, as you do, that the people living at the same address born in the 1890s were the likely parents, and it is possible that those who were born within four years of Sara were her siblings.

There is no record that I can find of Sara or any other Bunimowicz that were deported. Szmul died in the Ghetto, and was never deported.

Ok. Thank you for your research on this stage.

User Comment:

I have done hours and hours of research, using many different variations of  Sara's name. I can't find anything on her at all. I used the variations you suggested and also Bunim, Bonim, Bunimowitz. I also used the variations of her first name with the variations of the last names. I looked to see if there was any record of her being born IN the Ghetto, or if she got married during that time. I looked for death certificates, and any sign that she died in the Ghetto, but in the Holocaust survivors, she is listed, although she made no testimant, or anything like that. I actually think that she may have changed her name completely. On her page that says she survived, all that is listed is her address in the Ghetto, and her birthday. She literally disappeared, and I have no idea where to look anymore.

In the Postwar database of survivors, Sara's name is listed when you search under Sara Bunimowicz, there is very little information after that though. Also her possible, and most likely her mother Eugenja (Eugenia) is also listed with her. Although when I searched for information on Eugenia I found nothing. I found no liberation date, her birthdate wasn't listed either.

If you do think that the Sara you found in the database is her, please list the name in the database in the "name" field for this field and the link to the database where you found it as the source, so others can build on your research in the future.
--

Eugenja is the name of the woman you listed as her mother in stage 2. Is Sara's birthdate given in the database? Or where she was liberated? Again, simply the knowledge she survived is a huge discovery.
--

Often we simply do not have further information beyond the data in the database; sometimes the records were never made, and sometimes we just don't have the information readily available yet. Your passion and dedication are greatly valued, and I thank you for your hard work on this project.

What information did you find to suggest that she is a survivor? That information alone is very valuable.
