The Museum provides free online research services to Holocaust survivors, their families and families of victims about the fates of specific people. Museum staff conduct research in more than 25 languages and use all the resources available at the Museum to answer a request—archives and collections, ITS Digital Archive records, library records, and more.
We will provide personal, on-site assistance for Holocaust survivors or descendants of a survivor or victim. Appointments for this support can be scheduled, preferably with at least one week's notice, for Mondays at the Museum. Please contact the HSVRC at resource-center@ushmm.org before planning a research visit.
Documentation does not exist for all victims and survivors of Nazi persecution. In those cases, we try at the minimum to provide information about relevant towns, camps, or ghettos. Given the large volume of requests we receive each month, priority is given to requests from Holocaust survivors.
How to Submit a Request

Museum staff will search for documents in the records of the ITS Digital Archive and other archival collections of the Museum on behalf of Holocaust survivors, their families and families of victims, free of charge.
