School #9 was located at Ulica Rybna 15. The street name was changed to Fischstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about Ulica Rybna at

User Comment:
Rachela Judka's name was matched exactly using the Inhabitants source. Birthdate of 1927 matches up with the age of a female in School #9B. Blattbin 17 1 is most likely an interpretation of 17 Blattbinderstrasse, Flat 1.

Note that you'll also find her as Rachela Iudka, born December 31, 1927. (I suspect that is the correct DOB, as November only has 30 days.)

How did you determine these were her family members? Also, have you looked for any of them with the last name Iudka?

User Comment:
No deportation date was given under Inhabitants source. However, Ancestry.co.uk has records of Rachela and Alta's names printed in the Holocaust register of survivors in Pinkas HaNitzolim I & II (1945), page 129.

How did you determine that the Rachela in that source points to our Rachela from Lodz?

User Comment:
Date of Liberation is based off of USHMM Encyclopedia, which states that Bergen-Belsen was liberated by the British on 15 April 2014. Rachela Judka's name is printed in a record of survivors, allowing us to understand that she survived liberation. There is no further information on her after this point.
