By searching through the database with the last name set at fuzzy, I was able to find Mordka. Mordka's age fit the range for having attended School #1 at the time of the album signing. He had no occupation listed, but there was a death date listed in his notes as 12.10.42, and it took place inside the Lodz Ghetto (according to the secondary check that I did in the Lodz Ghetto database on jewishgen.org).

I agree that this seems to be the closest match although Michal and Mordka seem to be two very different first names and the The Polish Given Names Database doesn't indicate otherwise. Thank you for adding research notes for your fellow researchers!

I agree as well that this is the likeliest match. Were you able to uncover any other information that might clarify the discrepancy in the name that was signed in the album and the given name you found in the database?
