User Comment:

Doing a fuzzy search for Z* Gurner turned up a couple of results, but only Zelik Garner both matched the first name and was in the right birthdate range to have gone to school and signed the album.

Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree that you have found the student who signed the album. Good luck in the next stages!

I agree this is the person who most likely signed this name in the album. I look forward to seeing what you find in the next stages.

User Comment:

I was able to connect family members to Zelik through matching addresses. He had a father, Zalme (b. 1894), and a mother, Pessa (b. 1893). The youth of his family could either be siblings or cousins, including Bela (b. 1923), Bluma (b. 1924), Sala (b. 1926), Gitla (b. 1929, exact day as Zelik, so they're probably twins), Brane (b. 1933), and Hersz (b. 1935).

The majority of the family had the same deportation date of March 24, 1942, which was during the month of daily deportations to Chelmno. The exceptions are Zalme, who (according to hospital records labeled Salms Gurner, but I was able to connect to Zalme due to the matching year of birth and date of death) died on December 23, 1941, of pulmonary tuberculosis. The other exception is Brane, who died of currently unknown causes on March 31, 1942.
