User Comment:
I did a simple name search for the last name of "Gotwilen" and the first initial of "H", and was able to find only one boy with that particular first initial and a similarly spelled name. Hersz Herman Gutwilen was born on March 30, 1931. He resided at both Danziger 138 and Muhlgasse 88 5. In the notes listed under his entry, a deportation date of March 25, 1942 is listed as well as a transport number of 40/2.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree Hersz was the only boy born in the correct years for School #20A. I look forward to seeing what you uncover in stage two.

I agree with your expert reviewer; Hersz Herman is the only person who would have been within the right age range to attend school #20a in 1941.

User Comment:
By doing a simple search for the last name of "Gutwilen", I was able to find three other individuals that shared the same last name and address as Hersz. Abram (born August 2, 1894) was the only other male listed at the residence, and I believe that he was Hersz' father. Rena (born February 9, 1889) was the oldest female listed at the residence, and I believe that she was Hersz' mother. Laja Helena (born March 30, 1931) was the only other child listed at the residence and I believe that she was Hersz' twin sister. According to the notes for each family member, they were all transported together on Transport 40/2. This took place on March 25, 1942. According to secondary sources, the family would have been transported to Chelmno during daily deportations, where they would have perished in the gas vans.
