Leonia Sara Karpinski was between the ages of 9-12, she could have easily used her middle name because it was easier than her first name. Also, Karpinsk(a) is the feminine form of Karpinski (a neutral family name) the Germans would not have followed that cultural custom when entering her name.

I agree this is the person who most likely signed this name in the album. In 1941 she would have been 10 years old, the right age to attend school #9a. Please be careful before assigning motivations for signing a name a particular way--all we know is how she signed her name, not why, and we often see students who signed the album with their middle rather than their first name. You can enter her date of deportation into the appropriate field on the next stage. Be sure to look for both Karpinski and Karpinska as her last name on the next stages.
