According to the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitant's database, Minna was transfered to the Alexanderhofstrasse part of the ghetto on January 27, 1944.

I agree that you have found the student who most likely signed this name in the album. In 1941 she would have been 14 years old, the right age to attend school #8b. Nice work! In the future, please make sure to leave a comment letting the museum and other researchers know how you decided you'd found the right person.

I also agree about your interpretation of the date in the "Ghetto Note" field. This means that Minna was not deported during any of the major deportations in 1942, so there's a pretty good chance she survived. I'm very excited to see what you discover in the next stages! Don't forget to enter January 27, 1944 into the appropriate field on the next stage so we can keep track of it.

User Comment:

Within the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants records, I found that Majer Max Neuman (born January 17, 1902), Johanna Neuman (born October 19, 1903) and Lothar Neuman (born July 1, 1932) were all living at the same address as Minna within the Lodz Ghetto at Nebengasse 5 Apartment 4. Also, they, along with Minna, were moved to Alexanderhofstrasse 24 on January 27, 1944. Thus, I believe that Majer Max Neuman is most likely Minna’s father, Johanna Neuman is Minna’s mother, and Lothar Neuman is Minna’s younger brother.

I agree with your reasoning. Thank you for your thorough note! Since they were still in the ghetto in January 1944, it is likely that they survived to the liquidation of the ghetto in summer 1944--can you find anything about Minna and her family in the later research stages?
