User Comment:

While doing research I found a Mira Futerhandler and a Mira Futerhendler both in Volume 5, these names are almost the exact same and extremely similar to Miriam Futerhendler. Mira Futerhandler's birthdate is 12 Dec 1929 and Mira Futerhendler has a note Alter:11, so age 11. These names would have been recorded between 1940 and 1944 which would have put Mira between 11-15, so both fall within the correct age range. Futerhandler is located at Talweg 12 14 and Futerhendler is Talweg 12 15. I also believe Mira is Miriam Futerhendler because her street Talweg aka Dolna is connected to Honensteinerstrasse aka Zgierska where the school is located.

I also found the rest of the family in Volume 5 and the names for the mother, father, and sister match both the Futerhandlers and Futerhendlers. There is an Estera and Sura Jenta Futerhandler living at Talweg 12 14 and an Ester, Sara Jenta, and Icek Jakub Futerhendler living at Talweg 12 15. All of their ages also match.

Also in Volume 5 under the names of Mira, Estera and Sura Jenta Futerhandler the additional note of Tomaszow is left, I believe this stands for the short version of Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland which is about 30 miles from Lodz. This is most likely where the family is from.

Outstanding work. I agree that both records point to the same person, who, based on her age in 1941, looks like the most likely candidate to have signed this name in the album for school #7b. Thank you for your excellent process note as well.

One quick note before I can confirm--we don't know for certain that Tomaszow was her birthplace, we just know it's a place where they lived before Lodz. Please put this location into a different field and I'll be able to confirm your work on this stage. Thanks!

Using Volume 5 and the Jewish Gen website I found the other people in Mira's family. The mother and sister are listed twice in Volume 5 and the father only once.

Great work. I agree these are likely Mira's family members.
